I consider my love of birdwatching is now a very healthy addiction! Did you know? Two birds never sing thesame song! I think i was once a bird!!!

Jean Kay singing and wondering:

Little birds how do you know  that its time to build a nest, find a mate, and lay some eggs, which incubate as you rest?regardless of the weather you know the right time is near. I look forwad watching your bbabies when they aappear!

Ndutu short grass plain, & Ndutu region Apart from animals, the Serengeti is one of the greatest places to visit for birders, with over 500 species recorded. The oldest and largest ecosystem, the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, is one of the most important points for African Endemic Bird Areas. The area is home to rare bird species, including five that can only be found in this part of the world. Some of the sighted bird species include: Grey-breasted spurfowl, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro Barbet, Grey-Crested helmet-shrike, and other special birds are easy to spot in this restricted area, including Grey-breasted spur fowl, which is commonly seen around Seronera Area in the central Serengeti, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro Barbet, Grey-Crested helmet-shrike, and others. Since the majority of the bird species are permanent inhabitants, there are just a few migratory birds that come to the park for breeding during particular times of the year. The park's environment has aided the uncommon bird species' ability to leave in good conditions. The many bird species seen in the park are attributable to the park's diverse plant cover. The vegetation of the savannah, which includes open grasslands, riverine vegetation, and forest. The diverse vegetation attracts a variety of bird species, making it an excellent birding target. The number of bird species is infinite; all you need is enough time to see them all during your Serengeti birding safari. You also need well experienced bird guide that is well vast with the different parts of the endless plains of Serengeti.

From the Endless Plains of Serengeti to the Rim of Ngorongoro: A Birdwatching Safari Journey

As the golden African sun rises over the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, your journey begins with the gentle calls of awakening birds echoing across the wilderness. This is more than a transfer—it's a remarkable birdwatching expedition through some of Tanzania's most breathtaking landscapes.

Leaving Serengeti behind, every kilometer reveals a new chapter of nature's story. Along the way, watch for the elegant Secretary Bird striding gracefully through the grasslands, colorful Lilac-breasted Rollers flashing vibrant wings in flight, and majestic Tawny Eagles soaring effortlessly above the savannah. The acacia-dotted plains provide excellent opportunities to spot hornbills, weavers, starlings, and numerous migratory species depending on the season.

As the road gradually climbs toward the highlands, the scenery transforms dramatically. The open savannah gives way to lush forests and cooler mountain air. Here, bird enthusiasts may encounter forest species rarely seen on the plains, including turacos, sunbirds, and colorful barbets hidden among the ancient trees.

Throughout the journey, your expert safari guide shares fascinating insights into the region's unique ecosystems, helping you identify the incredible birdlife that makes Northern Tanzania one of Africa's premier birdwatching destinations.

Arriving at the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater is a moment that never fails to inspire. Standing on the crater edge, nearly 600 meters above the wildlife-rich floor below, you are rewarded with one of Africa's most spectacular panoramic views. As the evening light bathes the crater in golden hues, birds glide effortlessly along the forested rim while the sounds of the wilderness create a peaceful finale to an unforgettable day.

This scenic birdwatching drive is not simply a journey between destinations—it's an immersive safari experience where every sighting, every landscape, and every moment brings you closer to the extraordinary natural heritage of Tanzania.

Valley, the road climbs to the edge of the magical crater. We'll keep our eyes peeled for flowering Leonotis; if we find a patch, we might get to savor the coolest sunbird spectacle in Africa, with the impressive Golden-winged, coppery-colored Bronze, and iridescent purple Tacazee Sunbirds all competing for nectar from the same flowers. Descending into the crater with its towering vertical walls is like finding Africa's Garden of Eden. Inside, we seek myriad grassland and woodland birds, as well as scavenging vultures amidst a thronging wildlife spectacle virtually unequalled on earth. 30,000-some big mammals are resident here, and a decent proportion of them can be seen from a single view point within the crater, an indescribably magnificent sight.
