And we’ll game drive and view-catch at Lake Manyara, which our guy Ecological guy thought “the loveliest lake in Africa.” The lake is a birder’s heaven, (it’s frequented by 300 migratory species), and the water from its Crater Highlands–supplied springs makes it a forested redoubt for all the most glamourous large mammals, including the famed Manyara tree-climbing lions. (It’s a little irreverent, but tree-lounging might be a better description.)
Pick up from Karatu or Arusha and head off to explore the wonderful Lake Manyara. After about 30 min arrive to gate. Enjoy a game drive in the park with a picnic lunch. Lake Manyara is best known for its rich variety of bird life and tree climbing lion. Elephants, zebra, wildbeest, buffalo, monkeys, flamingos, pelicans, cormorants and storks, to mention a few also visible in Manyara. Later drive back to Karatu.
