Ngorongoro O’ldeani Lodge

Insider’s Review of Ngorongoro O'ldeani Lodge

A mere few miles from one of the world's edgiest of edges — Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact caldera anywhere and yet another of Africa's natural wonder-makers — gorgeous O'ldeani Lodge sits on a magnificent perch. Commanding 360-degree views and set amidst 40 acres of lush gardens to a soundtrack of more than 130 bird species, we're firmly in Big 5 country now.

Our daily game drive safaris regularly feature the finest loping lions, magnificent elephants, hunting hippo and wild-eyed hyena…. Combined with a visit to the local village, a spot of pampering in the spa, or a loll by the cooling infinity pool, expect to find at each turn a lightening of the heart that’s uniquely African. O'ldeani Lodge brings privileged and proximate access to the majesty of Africa’s wildlife.

Activities at O'ldeani Lodge
When beast and bird are at their most lively, our game drives adventure into the cool light of the morning and waning heat of the day. And, in between, there's as much to do (or indeed, as little) as you desire. Your ever-ready, ever-amiable AGAMA TOURS Director is on hand for an interpretive bush walk, or perhaps to take a longer look at a rare and intoxicating black rhino.

The infinity swimming pool offers cooling respite and, come evening, the outdoor fireplace is a fine setting for an after-dinner drink, or perhaps a spirited Swahili lesson. Gather round the snooker table or settle into a recliner for relaxing film night on the big screen. The Ole Sere Spa provides indulgent treatments. Burn off a particularly delicious lunch
