John Wayne, helped Arusha National Park by showcasing its scenery to a global audience, significantly boosting Tanzania's tourism. Filmed around Momella,Little Serengeti" and Mount Meru, the movie highlighted the park's wildlife and landscapes, transforming the area into a, renowned safari destination and establishing a lasting legacy.

Itinerary
In this trip You will be picked up in Arusha and drive to Arusha National Park. This park is about 30km near the big Arusha town. Do game driving in park with lunch at historical Hatari Lodge. Wildlife which could be seen include African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys and sometimes a rare leopard or hyena. Later drive back to Arusha.

Wake up in the early of the day by the striking sunlight red panorama of Mt Meru stretching along your room window. You will be served a cup of coffee and muffins before leaving with the safari lodge vehicle to the fragile montane forest on the slopes of Mt Meru. The drive takes you up to the Tululisia viewing point before walking a few hours to the crater floor at 2,400 m. The damp misty atmosphere rich of mosses, ferns, orchids, fire lilies and lichens lead you to a fantasy world beyond your imagination. At 1200hrs return to the view point for hot lunch prepared by Hatari lodge team, whereby on clear days you have a good view on the mountain, Momella Lakes, and the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. At 1500hrs drive back to the Hatari lodge for an afternoon siesta, tea, coffee and cake, the rest of the day is spend at leisure by the lodge. Then you will have dinner and overnight at Hatari Lodge.
