Day 1.| Arrive Tanzania Arrive into Kilimanjaro and transfer to your hotel, Arusha Mount Meru Hotel, where you have chance to relax after your flight before starting your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Days 2-4 | Chimpanzee trekking Wake up early for your flight transfer to your remote lodge located at the foot of the Mahale Mountains and on the edge of beautiful Lake Tanganyika. For the next three days you have the chance to experience this pristine wilderness and the range of activities available from this luxurious lodge. Not only will you be able to track chimpanzees in the mountains (the obvious highlight of this trip) you will also be able to head out on the lake for a spot of fishing, look out for other wildlife around the lodge or simply relax in comfort. Although the trekking to encounter the chimps can be somewhat strenuous (depending on the location of the animals that day) the moment you witness these primates, that share 99% of our DNA, for the first time is truly humbling. Day 5 | Depart Greystoke Mahale It is now time to depart this secluded paradise and transfer back to Kilimanjaro to catch your onward flight home.
